I graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities and near completion of a master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have taken courses on a range of topics including, couples therapy, parenting interventions, trauma, multicultural couples, family therapy, and working with immigrant couples/families.

I have training in Gottman Methods which is an approach to Couples’ Therapy that includes an assessment of the couple’s relationship and integrates research-based interventions. The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting communication and to increase intimacy, respect, and affection. Ultimately to bring a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the relationship.
I am passionate about working with couples, adults and parents on understanding and healing family-of-origin hurts, losses and traumas. Additionally, I work with clients to address anxiety issues, family and couple conflicts, parenting concerns, and to increase functional communication. My therapeutic framework comes from Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, Structural Therapy all within a trauma informed lens.
I am completing my Clinical Practicum under the supervision of Aaron Kolstad MA, LMFT. My supervision with Aaron consists of weekly consultations, professional development and growth. I will have the benefit of Aaron’s expertise as an experienced clinician for guidance.
My therapeutic approach is to work with clients in a supportive, encouraging, and empowering way. We will collectively set therapy goals that you want to strive for and formulate a treatment plan based on those goals. I aim for the therapy room to be a space that is open, inclusive, and an environment that allows for vulnerability, honestly, and growth. I will look forward to helping you on your journey toward wellness.
