Our Team

Katie Eder

MA, MFT

I graduated with an MA in marriage and family therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2021 and a BA in women’s studies and sociology from Hamline University in 2016. I received training in Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) at the Minnesota Trauma Recovery Institute in 2020.

I have worked in a variety of settings from residential and intensive day treatment to outpatient therapy. My experience includes working with clients to treat anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use disorders, eating disorders, body image distress, and adjustment stressors. I have served a variety of client populations including adolescents, adults, families,
co-parents, and clients from a variety of socioeconomic, racial/ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

I believe great therapy goes beyond symptom reduction and instead focuses on building
towards a life you can be proud of. In our work together, we will unpack and define your
emotional pain points, understand how those pain points affect your daily life and relationships,
and develop strengths-based strategies to overcome your emotional wounds in order to live a
life rooted in your values. I want all of my clients to feel empowered with concrete therapeutic
tools and supported by our work together as they heal and face the challenges in their lives.

In my therapeutic work, I am interested in trauma treatment, experiential modalities, navigating
rupture and repair in relationships, healing early childhood attachment wounds, developing
emotional awareness, practicing congruence between values and behaviors, exploring the role
of dysfunctional “parts” using an IFS lens, increasing self-compassion and self-care skills, and
honoring the biological needs of our bodies and nervous systems.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my dog, Mocha, attending concerts and
traveling with my husband, and playing board games with my friends. I love using my personal time to fill my cup by engaging in joyful and restful activities.

I see clients at the Edina office. I can be reached at Katie@mn-ccc.com
