I have experience working with couples who identify as heterosexual as well as clients who identify as LGBTQ+ in the areas of ADHD, parenting, phase of life changes, polyamory/ethical non-monogamy, developing open and clear communication, conflict management, pre-marital counseling and facilitating a deeper emotional connection; among others. I have a special interest in working with individuals or couples to address the personal and/or relational challenges of ADHD. I work with clients to deconstruct shame and self-worth challenges stemming from ADHD, address communication difficulties that are impacted by ADHD, and increase overall understanding of ADHD and how it impacts all aspects of clients’ lives.

My therapeutic lens is very systemic. None of us function in isolation from other people or systems. Partnered or not, marriage and family therapy is all about that systemic view of you – taking all parts of your life, your history, yourself into consideration while exploring what you are dealing with. I believe that looking at issues and challenges systemically and contextually can uncover the deeper issues causing disruptions above the surface. I utilize experiential and narrative therapy methods to develop insight into these emotions residing deep within your core self, to reflect on and communicate this internal experience, to re-story and reframe challenges within a new context, and to find new ways of experiencing emotion, in an effort to release and move forward.

I believe that the most important part of a therapeutic relationship is just that – the relationship. I embrace humor, openness, and honesty in the therapeutic relationship, and I view our work together as collaborative. My ultimate goal is to provide you with a warm, safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your strengths, challenges, and emotional experience.

I see clients at our Edina location either in-office or virtually.
